Alpár József Szabó (born July 26, 1990 ) is a Hungarian volleyball player .

Career

Szabó started his career in 2008 at Kecskeméti Sport Egyesület. With the club he was second in the Hungarian Cup and in the championship. In 2009 he moved to Fino Kaposvár . There the middle blocker won the cup and championship double three times in a row. He also played with the club in the European Cup. In 2010 Szabó made his debut in the Hungarian national team . In the 2012/13 season he played outside Hungary for the first time at Belgian club VBC Waremme . Then he returned home. In 2013/14 he became champion and cup winner with the Gorter Kecskeméti Röplabda Club and was named the best middle blocker in the league. The same successes he achieved in the following season with Fino Kaposvár. He was also active in both seasons in the European Challenge Cup. In 2015, Szabó moved to the Finnish club Korson Veto, which was renamed Vantaa Ducks a year later , and received an award as the best blocker in the league. In 2017 he took part in the Europa League with the national team. In 2018, the middle blocker was signed by the German Bundesliga club TSV Herrsching .
