The Alpha Bluff is a towering cliff at the Hillary Coast in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises to the west of the Shults Peninsula on the eastern flank of the Skelton Glacier .
The New Zealand crew of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) carried out a survey in 1957 and named it after the Greek letter alpha , as it is the southernmost of a series of cliffs along the Skelton Glacier.
