The Shults Peninsula is a massive and largely icy peninsula on the Hillary Coast in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It extends on the eastern flank of the mouth of the Skelton Glacier in the Ross Ice Shelf .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using its own surveys and aerial photographs from the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1963 after Captain Roy Gail Shults (1915-1997), Chief of Staff on the command staff of the United States Navy Support Units in Antarctica between 1962 and 1963.
