Alphonse Schmitt

Alphonse Schmitt (born December 1, 1875 in Kœtzingue , † February 13, 1912 in Paris ) was a German organist and composer .

Alphonse Schmitt was a student of Alexandre Guilmant (around 1901) and Charles-Marie Widor . He worked as an organist and composer at the Paris church of Saint-Philip-du-Roule . He left behind a number of organ compositions, of which the Toccatina is particularly well known.
