Alrune Rod

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alrune Rod was a Danish psychedelic rock band that first existed from 1968 to 1975. She performed at the Danish rock festival in Thy , which was reflected in a concert film. Five studio albums were released, the first two musical contents of which Julian Cope described as a mixture of the styles of Pink Floyd , Van der Graaf Generator and Arthur Brown . Also Grateful Dead are named as an influence.

history

Leif Roden founded the band, which was soon seen as the pioneer of psychedelic sounds and artistically oriented rock bands in their home country. After a first single, Tæl aldrig i morgen med still in 1968, the self-titled album was released the following year, followed by the most famous Hej du 1970 and Alrune Rock 1971. The latter appeared with Danish and English vocal tracks. The later three publications, which appeared up to 1975, could not keep the standard of the works published up to then with sometimes very long (10 to 13 minutes long) songs. In 1996 there was a reunion of the band, which has been giving concerts at irregular intervals since then.
