Alssundbroen ( German the Alsensund Bridge ) is a ramp bridge in Denmark that crosses the Als Sund ( German Alsensund ) and connects the Sundeved peninsula ( German Sundewitt ) with the island of Als ( German Alsen ). The 662 meter long bridge was built from 1978 to 1981 and inaugurated on October 19, 1981 by Ingrid von Sweden . At the four-lane road bridge by ending Kliplev coming Danish motorway Sønderborgmotorvejen the end of March was opened 2012th The motorway goes hand in hand with Primærrute 8 , which runs from Nyborg to Tønder ( German Tondern ).
The bridge is part of a bypass road that was built to relieve traffic in the Sønderborg ( German Sonderburg ) city center. Until 1981, all traffic between ran Kruså and the Ferry Fynshav through the city center on after the Danish King Christian X called bascule bridge Kong Christian X's Bro .
Previously there were plans, among other things, for an 851 meter long cable-stayed bridge over the Als Sund, which would have meant a new landmark for Sønderborg. The construction of a tunnel was also included in the planning, but both solutions turned out to be too expensive.
