The Old All Saints Cathedral of Khartoum is a former church building of the Anglican Church in the Sudanese capital Khartoum , which is used as the Republican Palace Museum . The cathedral is located near the presidential palace of Khartoum .

history

The foundation stone was laid in 1904 and the cathedral was consecrated and opened in 1912 . On July 1, 1971, the building was confiscated by the Sudanese government because there should have been a tunnel from the cathedral to the presidential palace. A new location in South Khartoum was allocated for the cathedral, where the new building of the All Saints Cathedral of Khartoum was built by the church community from 1979 to 1983.

In October 1996, the steeple of the old All Saints Cathedral of Khartoum was demolished and the building was converted into a museum , which opened in 2000.

The museum was opened in 2000. The museum's collection includes various objects such as old presidential cars, state gifts and Governor General Gordon 's piano.
