Old Nauffahrt

The Alte Naufahrt is a former arm of the Danube and the current arm of the Danube in Vienna and Lower Austria .

Opposite (left) from Tulln on the Danube, it branches off from the Danube and flows into the Krumpenwasser , another old arm of the Danube , at In der Au south of Stockerau . On the western edge of the Lobau this oxbow lake reappears as the Alte Nauffahrt .

The term “Nauffahrt” was understood to mean going downstream on a river.
