The Old Synagogue in Velké Meziříčí (German Great Meseritsch ), a town in the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou in the Czech Republic , was built in 1695. The secular synagogue on Novosady Street has been a protected cultural monument since 1988 .

The synagogue was built next to an older, smaller synagogue. In the synagogue there were 85 places for men and 63 for women, which could be reached from the outside via a special staircase to the women's gallery . You enter the building through a baroque portal .

The New Synagogue, built between 1868 and 1870, is in the immediate vicinity .

Todays use

A Jewish museum has been set up in the former synagogue , which presents the history of the Jews in the region.
