The Altenkirchener Mühle was a watermill in the middle Westerwald in Altenkirchen .

The Altenkirchener Mühle (also Altenkirchener Stadtmühle ) was mentioned as early as 1714, when the residents of many communities in the Altenkirchen district of the County of Sayn- Altenkirchen asked the sovereign, pointing out the dangerous and impassable roads to the town mill in Altenkirchen in winter, for permission to build a new grain mill in Niedererbach asked. In 1722 the Altenkirchener mill had to be repaired and needed two new mill axes. In 1744 the town mill is mentioned as a stately grinding mill . In 1765 the municipality of Helmenzen refused to deliver the wood for the running dishes of the mill in Altenkirchen, the contribution to the maintenance of the town mill was finally settled through a settlement.

This mill existed as a stately ban mill until 1820 . In 1930 it was taken over by Walter Hassel (miller of Michelbacher Mühle ). A fire completely destroyed the facility in 1936. The mill ditch on the edge of the Wiesental is still visible , which branches off from the Wied in the Michelbach area and flows into the former turbine inlet at the mill parking lot. The former mill was located on Frankfurter Strasse in Altenkirchen, near the level crossing on the Limburg – Altenkirchen railway line .
