Wandsbek old cemetery

The Old Cemetery Wandsbek is a 1.8 hectare cemetery in the Hamburg district of Wandsbek . It was opened in 1850 as a replacement for the Wandsbek Historic Cemetery, which had become too small, at the Christ Church on the Wandsbek market square . It is located in the north of the district on Wandsbeker Allee. Since 2000 he is with the cemeteries in Hinsch field and Tonndorf to the Protestant church Tonndorf.

The cemetery has some historic tombs from the 19th century, including the Neumann Mausoleum , which is a listed building . Part of the fence and gate system dates back to the time the cemetery was founded, the chapel was built around the turn of the century. The bell tower was added in 1964, the organ in 1967.
