The old Jewish cemetery in Rožmberk nad Vltavou (German: Rosenberg ), a town in Okres Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic , is said to have been laid out around 1500. The Jewish cemetery is located on the left bank of the Vltava in the center of Rosenberg.

history

The oldest gravestones in the old cemetery date from the end of the 16th century. The Jewish deceased from the South Bohemian districts of Krummau and Kaplitz were buried here. At the end of the 19th century, the New Jewish Cemetery was laid out on Krummauer Strasse outside the city center.

In 1939, many adolescent tombstones were overturned. There are still around 30 tombstones in the old Jewish cemetery.
