The old courthouse in Bad Rodach is a two-storey building with a gable roof from the 17th century and is located at Schlossplatz 1.

history

As long as the dukes of Saxe-Gotha came to hunt Rodach, it served as a cavalier's house to accommodate his hunting guests . Later, until 1878, it was the ducal judicial office, then, until 1943, it was the district court . It also had a prison . The building was given the stepped gable in the neo-renaissance style in 1903. From 1945 until the renovation in 1988 the house was used in various ways. The city ​​library was housed in it until the summer of 2013 ; today it houses the police station, among other things . The building is a listed building .
