The old rectory in Schöckingen , a district of the city of Ditzingen in the Ludwigsburg district , is a cultural monument according to § 28 DSchG BW .

history

The two-storey half - timbered house that characterizes the townscape, with a solid ground floor with corner blocks and a round arched cellar door, as well as a bay window on the upper floor that protrudes far into Schlossstrasse , was built in 1594 with the help of stonemason Jeremias Schwarz from Leonberg . The year of construction is documented on the richly decorated door frame.

The client was the lord of the castle and church, Martin von Nippenburg . It was only after completion, in 1599, that the Reformation was introduced in Schöckingen under the pressure of the Württemberg sovereign. In 1740, Christoph Dionysius von Seeger , the founding rector of the Hohen Karlsschule in Stuttgart, was born in the house.
