from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Altmühltaler Lammauftrieb is an annual event in the Bavarian Altmühltal , where lambs, sheep and goats are driven through the Mörnsheim market onto the summer pastures.

The Altmühltaler Lammauftrieb is held on the 3rd Saturday and Sunday in May and opens a whole series of events around the Altmühltaler Lamm and extends from the west through the entire district of Eichstätt to the east, where analogous to the buoyancy in autumn in the Municipality of Kipfenberg - Böhming the downforce is held.

The route leads over the Gailachbrücke through the medieval market gate at Kastenhof to the town hall square and through the narrow streets of the market. The Altmühltaler Lammauftrieb is traditionally headed by a prominent political figure. Among other things, the Bavarian Prime Ministers Günther Beckstein and Horst Seehofer made themselves available. The event attracts a large audience every year. A shepherd's and craft market takes place after the upswing.
