Américo (born December 24, 1977 in Arica ; actually Domingo Jonhy Vega Urzúa ) is a Chilean singer.

Career

At the age of six he started participating in various festivals. He released his first album at the age of nine with the title "Para mis padres" (German: For my parents). In adolescence he recorded his second album, "Mi colegiala" (German: My student). Américo had released eleven albums and the album "Tu corazón nos pertenece" (German: Your heart belongs to us) was awarded a platinum record. In 2005 he moved from Algeria back to Europe with the band "La Nueva Alegría". He separated from the band again in 2007 and in the same year took part in the "¿Cuánto vale el show?" (Literally German: How high is the show?). He shot two new albums in 2008, Así es and A morir. The reception of the media were positive and influenced that he could really get started.

At the end of 2008 he released the album "Feria Music" and sold 8,000 copies in the first week. In summer 2009 he gave a tour of Chille. On International Women's Day he sang in the Teatro Caupolicán for the President, who was also present in the theater, with an audience of 5,000. In the same year he went on a trip to Peru, which marked the start of his international career. In February 2010 he gave his first appearance at the International Song Festival of Viña del Mar and appeared on February 25, 2010 as the first artist.
