Sven Kretzschmar (born October 22, 1979 ) is a former German biathlete .

Sven Kretzschmar competed in his first race in the European Biathlon Cup in 2003 . His first race was a sprint in Ridnaun , where he finished 22nd and thus won his first points. After the turn of the year he achieved a first single-digit placement with a sixth place in a sprint in Langdorf . It remained his best placement in a single race in the racing series. In 2006 he was able to win his only of almost 40 races in the European Cup in a relay competition in Ridnaun alongside Steve Renner , Carsten Pump and Christoph Knie . At the German championships in summer biathlon 2005 in Altenberg , Kretzschmar was runner-up behind Roman Böttcher in cross-country running - summer biathlon sprint races with the biathlon rifle .
