The best result in a single race was 16th in the sprint. The 2003/04 season was particularly successful in the Junior European Cup. Renner won four races and came on the podium three more times. He was only able to partially confirm his good form at the 2004 Junior World Championships in Haute-Maurienne . In the individual he was eleventh, eighth in the sprint and fifth in the pursuit race. In addition to Reuter, Rösch and Christoph Knie , he won gold in the relay race. In the junior European Cup, Reuter again achieved two wins and four more podium places in the following season. The Junior World Championships 2005 in Kontiolahti was also Renner's last. In the individual he was only 25th, but with the relay around Schiller, Knie and Jens Zimmer he won relay gold again. At the national level, Renner won the German junior championships with the Saxon relay in 2003 and 2004.

Since the 2005/06 season , Reuter has been running in the senior biathlon European Cup . If he was only 45th in his first race, an individual in Obertilliach , he was able to stabilize his performance quickly and a week later he was seventh in the top ten in a pursuit race. Shortly afterwards he won a European Cup race for the first time with a pursuer in Altenberg. A victory with the German relay followed in Ridnaun , with which he came second in Osrblie in 2008. At the bad Biathlon European Championships in Langdorf in 2006 , Renner's best result was a 19th place in the individual, sprint and pursuit races were unsuccessful. Even with the relay, Renner only finished seventh. Twice he was in 2006 in the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz used and occupied the seats 49 in the sprint and 37 in pursuit. At the German championships in 2007 in Ruhpolding , he was second with the Saxon relay.
