Christoph Knie (born April 24, 1984 in Bad Berleburg ) is a former German biathlete .

Christoph Knie became German youth champion in 1999/2000. In 2001 he was young athlete of the year and qualified for the German C-team. Knie was very successful at junior world championships. In 2002 in Ridnaun he became world champion in singles and with the relay. The following year in Kościelisko he first won bronze in the sprint, then gold in the pursuit and silver with the relay, which also included Robert Wick . In 2004 in Haute-Maurienne he won relay gold (with Michael Rösch, among others ). In 2005 in Kontiolahti , knee narrowly missed a medal as fourth in the sprint, but he won gold again with the relay. In 2006 he first appeared at the European Championships. In Langdorf , however, he could not achieve any success. But things went better in Bansko in 2007 . Here, too, he could not convince in the individual and was not used in the other individual races. On the other hand, he was used in the relay. With Carsten Pump , Daniel Graf and Jörn Wollschläger , he was also able to prevail against higher rated squadrons and won gold.

In the European Cup, Knie first took part in an individual (18th) in Ridnaun in 2003. In 2004 he won a European Cup race in Méribel for the first time with the relay . In Östersund , Knie participated in the biathlon world cup for the first time in 2005 and was 44th in the sprint and 52nd in the pursuit. Then he started again in the European Cup, especially since qualifying for the World Cup team was difficult with strong national competition.

At the 2009 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof, Christoph Knie won the bronze medal in the sprint.

He contested his last race in early 2010 at the IBU Cup in Pokljuka .

In addition to biathlon, Knie also practices several other sports related to biathlon. In 2003 he won the bronze medal at the European Mountain Running Championships, in 2004 a chase start race in the roller ski world cup in Croatia and in 2005 he was German roller ski runner-up in the chase start in Büschergrund .
