Am I Blood is a Finnish heavy and thrash metal band that was founded in Helsinki in 1992 under the name St. Mucus .
history
The band was founded in 1992 by guitarist Janne Kerminen and singer Pasi Koskinen . Koskinen split from the band in 1995, a month before their debut album Natural Mutation was recorded . Kerminen also took over the vocals for the recording of the album. The album was recorded within six days. The second album, Am I Blood , was released in 1997 and was distributed throughout Europe and voted album of the month by German rock hard . In 1998 the next album Agitation , which was produced by Daniel Bergstrand , was released. For the next two years, the band was busy writing new pieces and rehearsing them. This resulted in the EP Gone With You in 2000. Then the band signed a contract with a US label in 2002. However, there were discrepancies, so that the contract had to be terminated. Instead, the band reached a contract with A1 Music . With this label, the band released the album The Truth Inside the Dying Sun in 2005 . After that, many members left the band, so singer and guitarist Janne Kerminen and bassist Toni Grönroos were the only remaining members. Guitarists Ilves and Max Karling and drummer Pekka Sauvolainen joined the band as a new line-up.
style
The band plays classic thrash metal, with the band often being accused of imitating Metallica . The songs … And Justice for All and Welcome Home (Sanitarium) are mentioned as examples .
