Amagi Brilliant Park ( Japanese 甘 城 ブ リ リ ア ン ト パ ー ク , Amagi Buririanto Pāku ) is a Japanese light novel series by Shoji Gatoh with illustrations by Yuka Nakajima . It has been published since 2013 and has been adapted as a manga and anime . The story falls into the genres of fantasy , comedy and romance.

The successful and popular high school student Seiya Kanie ( 可 児 江 西 也 ) is invited to an amusement park by the mysterious Isuzu Sento ( 千 斗 い す ず ). The girl takes him to Amagi Brilliant Park - run down and on the verge of bankruptcy. Its director Latifah Fleuranza ( ラ テ ィ フ ァ ・ フ ル ー ラ ン ザ ) reveals herself to Seiya as a fairy who rules the park, which is animated by magical beings, as a princess. They have fled their Maple Land homeland and can only survive by renewing their energies through the joy of the people. With the park's decline, the survival of its population is in danger. Latifah gives Seiya magical powers so that he can save the Amagi Brilliant Park with these and his skills.

Book publications

The light novel has been published by Fujimi Shobō in Japan since February 2013 . So far, eight volumes have come out. The series was published in English by J-Novel Club. From October 2014 to February 2015 an offshoot was published as a light novel in two volumes.

There were also three manga series for the light novel . The first to appear in the Gekkan Dragon Age was a series written by Shoji Gatoh and drawn by Kimitake Yoshioka . The chapters published from February 2014 to September 2016 were also edited in six edited volumes. A second series called Amagi Brilliant Park? Fumo was written by Shoji Gatoh and drawn by Kōji Azuma. The chapters appeared from May 2014 in the Gekkan Dragon Age , from July 2014 to September 2015 in Dragon Magazine and later combined in two volumes. The manga Amagi Brilliant Park the animation , drawn by Ami Hakui , was also released for the anime . ComicWalker magazine published the 2014 and 2015 chapters. Then these appeared in three anthologies.

Anime television series

An adaptation of the light novel as an anime series for Japanese television was made by Kyōto Animation . The lead author was Fumihiko Shimo and the director was Yasuhiro Takemoto . The character design was created by Miku Kadowaki and the artistic direction was Mikiko Watanabe . There were 13 episodes, each lasting 25 minutes.

The series was shown on BS-TBS and TBS from October 2 to December 25, 2014 . A German version was published by Kazé Anime . Manga Entertainment published an English translation and the anime was published online by AnimeLab, Crunchyroll and HIDIVE. 2x2 TV showed the series on Polish TV and Proware released a Chinese version.

The composer of the film music was Shinkichi Mitsumune . The opening was accompanied by the song Extra Magic Hours by Akino and Bless4. For the credits, Erementario de Aimashō ( エ レ メ ン タ リ オ で 会 い ま し ょ う ) from Brilliant4 and in episode 9 the song Subarashiki FUN! TASY ( 素 晴 ラ シ キ FUN! TASY ) from Brilliant4 was recorded.
