The Amanda Rookery is a breeding colony of emperor penguins on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . It lies on the west bank of the Hovdevika , a side bay of Prydz Bay .

Scientists from a campaign by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions discovered it from the air on August 26, 1957. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them in 1958 based on the name Amanda Bay for the Hovdevika, which is named after the daughter of Peter Hugh Clemence (* 1925), squadron leader of the Royal Australian Air Force for Antarctic flights from Mawson Station in 1957.
