The Amazing Rhythm Aces were an American country rock band from Memphis , Tennessee .
The band was founded in 1974 in Memphis by both Jesse Winchester -Begleitmusikern Jeff Davis and ButchMcDade founded. With their bandmates they played a music determined by country music, but also influenced by pop and soul .
history
Their very first LP contained a first - later also revealed: only - top ten hit, "Amazing Grace (used to be her favorite song)". The follow-up album received a Grammy for best country vocal performance. The following albums sold despite guest appearances by z. B. Joan Baez and Tracy Nelson getting worse, although critics praised the recordings. In 1981 the group gave up.
After 15 years a restart was attempted, which was prematurely broken off by McDade's death from cancer, but produced some recordings.
