The Ambachtalbrücke is a motorway bridge and belongs to the federal motorway 45 . It is located between the cities of Dillenburg and Herborn (Hessen) near the town of Burg .

The structure was built in 1968 by the companies Dyckerhoff & Widmann and Wayss & Freytag from Frankfurt am Main. The prestressed concrete construction of the girder bridge is a total of 438 m long, with the longest span spanning 68 m. The bridge body is formed by a hollow box.

The Ambachtal bridge became known nationwide through the liberation of the kidnapped show jumper Hendrik Snoek . The manager of the consumer market Ratio was kidnapped from his apartment in Münster on November 3, 1976 , and chained to a 52-meter-high cavity in one of the bridge piers. On November 5, his cries for help were noticed by a passer-by who was in the area below the bridge, who then called the police. In 1978 the Münster Regional Court sentenced the kidnapper Peter Graef to 13 years in prison.
