Ambah is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh . The city is located in the northern part of the state.
The city is part of the Morena district . Ambah has municipal council status . The city is divided into 18 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 47,177 inhabitants, of which 25,093 were men and 22,084 were women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 90%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 78.97%, slightly above the national average.
