The district of Amboasary is an administrative unit in the region of Anosy or the old province of Toliara in the south of Madagascar . In 2018 it had 256,977 inhabitants, according to the census, of which 124,339 men and 132,638 women. 45,998 people live in urban settlements and 210,979 people in rural areas. Amboasary administers an area of ​​9889 square kilometers, which includes the following municipalities: Amboasary Sud , Behara , Ebelo , Elonty , Esira , Ifotaka , Mahaly , Manevy , Maromby , Marotsiraka , Ranobe , Sampona , Tanandava Sud , Tomboarivo , Tranomaro and Tsivory .
