Amdy Moustapha Faye (born March 12, 1977 in Dakar , Senegal ) is a former Senegalese football player.

Career

Faye's first stop was in France with the AJ Auxerre. During his time at Auxerre, he was appointed to the Senegalese national team, which represented Senegal at the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan . In 2003 he finally moved to England to the newly promoted Portsmouth FC . He stayed there for two years and played 47 games. In 2005 he moved to league rivals Newcastle United , but he stayed here for only one year and was then committed within the Premier League of Charlton Athletic . In 2007 he was loaned out by the Glasgow Rangers .

With the Rangers, he was 2007 Scottish League Cup winners with the same team he achieved in 2008 the final of the UEFA Cup , which with 0: 2 against Zenit St Petersburg was lost. Faye was not used in the final.

After two years at Stoke City , Amdy Faye moved to English second division promoted Leeds United in September 2010 .
