The ant calendar was a folk calendar that was published annually by various publishers from 1838 to 1942. The calendar had no pagination .

history

In 1838 the first “Ant Calendar” published by Karl Ferdinand Philippi appeared in Grimma, from 1840 it was published under the title “Royal Saxon Concessionaire Ant Calendar”. The calendar was sold to Austria, Russia, America and even Australia at the time.

After Philippi's death, the calendar appeared in Leipzig from 1855 under the title “Royal Saxon Ant Calendar”. The editing was done by the writer and poet Theodor Drobisch, the publisher was Friedrich Adolf Geißler.

From 1892 the calendar was again called the “Ant Calendar” with the addition “Saxony's house and family messenger”. Publishers were “Püschel” in Dresden, “Verlag Comptoir” in Grimma, Emil Trachbrodt in Leipzig , Schlimpert & Püschel in Meißen. The calendar was published until 1942.
