Amenmose was the mayor of Thebes under Ramses IV to Ramses VI.

His first well-dated document comes from the year 3 of Ramses IV. According to Peden, Amenmose was already at least 74 years old at this time and served another 16 years until the year 8 of Ramses VI at the earliest. He was the successor of his brother Paser , who was last in the year 18 by Ramses III. was mentioned. Amenmose may have been in office under Ramses III.

Amenmose was Amenemope's maternal uncle and uncle of the senior asset manager Bakenchons, with whom he took part in the great expedition to Wadi Hammamat . Amenmose's son was Paser , who was born under Ramses IX at the latest in the year 16 . Was mayor of Thebes. Amenmose was probably an Amun priest in earlier times, as he carried the title of Father of God with clean hands .

An ostracon , possibly two papyri and two statues from Karnak serve as further evidence of Amenmose .
