It is a member of the Amicale Citroën Internationale (ACI), in which a further 28 national companies represent the worldwide association of all clubs. In Germany, it represents around a dozen of the largest Citroën clubs and interest groups , as well as umbrella organizations such as the around 230 Citroën 2CV clubs, local groups and regulars . Around 12,000 club members are represented through them in Germany, and internationally there are around 54,000 club members.

history

The Amicale Citroën in Germany, like its international counterpart, the Amicale Citroën Internationale (ACI), was formally founded in 2004. Internationally it is established as an organization under French law from 1901 . It had already existed for around 20 years before, but was in a legal gray area and so far without formal and official recognition on the part of the manufacturer, Automobiles Citroën or Citroën Deutschland GmbH. Since 2004 it has been the only recognized representation of the clubs vis-à-vis the manufacturer, both nationally and internationally.

tasks and goals

The main objectives of the Amicale Citroën are:

  • Establishment and expansion of a network of non-commercial Citroën clubs and Panhard clubs, interest groups (IGs), get-togethers, groups and organizations
  • Promote the exchange of information between the clubs
  • Preservation of knowledge about the brand and its history
  • Support of national and international events
  • Maintenance and expansion of the partnership relationships with the manufacturer and its brand clubs and fans
  • Defending and promoting the interests of German clubs and their members in the international club network (Amicale Citroën Internationale, ACI) and towards the manufacturer's headquarters, Automobiles Citroën in Paris
  • Choice of a special “Event Of The Year”, a non-profit-oriented event that is supported by the Amicale and all clubs, nationally and internationally

The clubs belonging to Amicale Citroën Germany are not limited to pure classic car clubs, but are type-independent and cross-model and both pure vehicle clubs for vehicles built from 1919 onwards, but also include sports clubs and model car clubs, groups of interests, etc.

The organization is determined by the clubs themselves and is manufacturer-independent. It is free of charge for the clubs. The clubs and their members as well as interested third parties are informed via a newsletter .

In 2015, the organization was expanded to include the representation of the clubs, interest groups, etc. of the brand DS Automobiles , which was newly founded in 2014, at the annual general meeting .
