Amici is an impact crater on the far side of the moon , south of the great Icarus crater and north of the McKellar moon crater .
The IAU named the crater after Giovanni Battista Amici .
The rim of the crater is badly eroded and deformed by sustained impacts, so that it now has a more polygonal shape. It has a valley at the southern end. The bottom of the crater shows no noticeable impacts, but is littered with smaller impact craters.
