Amit Farkash ( Hebrew עמית פרקש), (Born May 26, 1989 in Toronto , Canada ) is an Israeli actress and singer .

Life

Amit Farkash was born in Toronto in 1989. When she was two years old, she moved to Israel with her parents. She grew up in Ramat Hasharon . She began taking singing lessons at the age of 13.

In 2006 she sang the song milion kochavim (one million stars). This song is about her brother, Tom Farkash, and sang it at his funeral. Tom Farkash died in a helicopter crash during the war in Lebanon . The song became an Israeli hit and a symbol of war.

In 2008 she appeared in the Israeli version of the high school musical. The premiere was a commercial success.

In 2009 she first played a supporting role in the Israeli children's series Alex pro and cons (אלכס בעד ונגד). Then she took on the lead role of the half-vampire Ella Rozen in the Israeli television series Split . Through this role she also became known internationally. Split has been sold to more than 60 different countries. After three seasons and 135 episodes, the series ended in 2012 and Farkash turned to new projects. She released her debut album Feel and performed at several Israeli festivals. In 2014 she landed a leading role in the television series The Nerd Club.

Amit Farkash met her then boyfriend Yon Tumarkin while filming Split . Since the actors also embodied the lovers in the series, their relationship was very present in the media. Tumarkin and Farkash split in 2012.
