Trollhättan rampage
In the rampage in Trollhättan ( Sweden ) on October 22, 2015, three people died and others were injured. An injured teacher died in hospital on December 3, 2015, making it the fourth fatality.

The masked perpetrator, 21-year-old Anton Lundin Pettersson, came to the Kronan School café in Trollhättan in western Sweden at around 10.20 a.m. on October 22, 2015 . He was dressed in a black cloak, had a helmet and carried a sword. He first stabbed a 12-year-old student, then the student assistant Lavin Eskander and injured at least four other students between 11 and 15 years and a teacher with stitches. A 15-year-old and another adult were critically injured. Through the courageous and prudent reaction of the director, everyone in the house was quickly warned of the danger, so that a larger number of victims could be avoided. The patrolmen who first arrived at the scene of the crime shot the perpetrator twice in self-defense when he attacked the officers with his sword. The gunman was seriously injured. He died later in hospital.

The Kronan School is mainly attended by children from migrant families. The school is open to the public. There is also a municipal library, a cultural center, a youth club and a citizens' office on the site. The complex is located in a part of Trollhättan that is dominated by migrants.
On the same day, the suspicion was expressed that the act could have a racist background. Lundin Pettersson criticized Islam and immigration policies in Sweden and Europe .
On the other hand, he was not interested in politics until the act, had no contact with right-wing extremists, was more concerned with computer games such as Death Korps of Krieg and Warhammer (hence his costumes), and liked to exchange ideas on Facebook. He also had many trainee colleagues with a migration background, with whom he had a good relationship. He was also fascinated by Stephen King's war films and novels, according to media reports . The selection of the victims does not reveal a clearly racially motivated scheme either: while Lavin Eskander, who was murdered by Lundin Petterson, neither looked "southern" nor had an accent, he did not attack other young people who would have fit into a racist grid. It remains unclear whether the act was really politically motivated or the perpetrator was just confused. In his farewell letter he complained above all that the costs of immigration would save in other social areas. Therefore he feels obliged to "act". That sounds more confused than extremist. Since the perpetrator's state of mind can no longer be checked, the actual background of the crime will have to remain open.
According to the final police report, he planned to be killed by the police ( Suicide by cop ). This emerges from his farewell letter.
The rampage was the first Swedish rampage at a school that resulted in death since 1961.
