The amphitheater glacier is a glacier overlaid with moraine debris in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the east of the Royal Society Range, it flows from The Amphitheater in a northerly direction to the Roaring Valley .
The research team of the New Zealand Geographical Society named it in the course of a research campaign that ran from 1977 to 1978 based on the name of the basin, the shape of which is reminiscent of an ancient amphitheater .
