Warstein Office

The Warstein office emerged from the amalgamation of several mayor districts at the beginning of the 19th century and was given its name in 1844. The office existed in this form until its dissolution in 1975.

To the office Warstein belonged the communities and cities Allagen , Belecke , Hirschberg , Mülheim , Sichtigvor , Waldhausen and Warstein .

history

In 1828 the districts of Warstein, Belecke and Allagen were merged. The resulting mayor's office in Warstein was enlarged by Hirschberg in 1838. From 1844 this administrative district was given the name "Amt Warstein".

In 1961 it had a size of 141.0 square kilometers and 20,364 inhabitants.

The office belonging to the Arnsberg district existed until 1975. In that year the office was dissolved and its communities transferred to the enlarged town of Warstein.
