history

Inscription plaque at the Amtmannshof

The Amtmannhaus was built in 1628 as a private property for Hans Hofmann, bailiff of the Teutonic Order in the nearby Teutonic Order Palace in Kirchhausen , and his wife Anna Maria.

description

The building is a two-story, plastered half-timbered building that was erected in 1628 over a high basement. It was the main building of a walled Franconian courtyard typical of the Heilbronn area with a residential house, barn and stable. The house is the only remaining building on the farm, the other buildings belonging to it have not been preserved.

The two arched gates of the preserved courtyard wall facing the street are remarkable. A sandstone plaque on it shows the builders with the construction date and inscription: 1628 Hans Hofman Amptman of the German order alhie - Anna Maria his married household .

Art historical significance

The Amtmannhaus is a “rare example of a three-sided courtyard from the time of the Thirty Years War” and is therefore a cultural monument .
