Harrislee District

The Harrislee district was a district in the Flensburg-Land district in the province of Schleswig-Holstein .

After the Prussian province of Schleswig-Holstein had been established in 1867 , the district was formed from the two communities Fröslee and Harrislee .

After the referendum in Schleswig , Fröslee was ceded to Denmark in 1920. In return, the communities of Kupfermühle and Niehuus come from the disbanded Bau district to the Harrislee district.

In 1938, Kupfermühle and Niehuus were incorporated into Harrislee.

In 1948, the district was dissolved and Handewitt became an office-free municipality.
