The District Court Eppingen existed from 1857 to July 1, 1974 in Epping . Local courts are part of ordinary jurisdiction .

history

The local court in Eppingen was institutionalized in 1857 when the administration of justice was separated from the administration (Großherzoglich Badisches Bezirksamt Eppingen ). The newly created district court, however, remained in the building of the district office. In 1873 the district court moved into a new building at Kaiserstraße 1, a two-story sandstone stone building with a fully hipped roof, a total of 570 square meters on three floors. The building was used by the district court and the notary's office, and there were also two service apartments, one for the board of directors and one for an employee. The generously laid out district court garden rounded off the overall impression.

At the end of 1972, a law of the state of Baden-Württemberg stipulated the closure of smaller local courts. The repeal of these courts was intended to eliminate the overlaps between district courts and administrative districts that resulted from the 1973 district reform . The district of the Eppingen District Court comprised around 24,000 court residents . Despite protests, the district court was closed on July 1, 1974. The application by the city of Eppingen to set up a branch of the Heilbronn District Court here was rejected.

The Eppingen notary's office was in the building until 1979, then the Eppingen Agricultural Office until it was closed in 1997 . Today the branch of the Heilbronn District Forest Office, an AOK office and private apartments are located there. A kindergarten is to be set up in the building by 2013.
