history

The residential and commercial building with the address Am Markt 5 in Weißenfels was built in 1553 by the court councilor and Thuringian governor Christoph von Werther . The special privilege was withdrawn from the house in 1673 and given to the neighboring house, the Sächsischer Hof . Due to the constant changes of ownership and functions, the building has had different names over the years:

  • electoral escort
  • ducal office building
  • Forgery shears
  • District Court or Degree Court (1644)
  • Zastrov's house (1654)
  • Schmidt's house (1660)
  • Farmer's House (1703)
  • Mangold's House (1717)
  • Persdorff'er house

Martin Gregor-Dellin lived in this building from 1947 to 1958 . Today there is an ice cream parlor on the ground floor.
