Official meal mill (Räbke)
The Amtsmahlmühle , also called Köhlers Mühle , Deneckens Mühle or Günters Mühle after previous owners , was an overshot water mill on the Schunter in Räbke in the Helmstedt district . It was outside the village about 50 meters below the Obermühle and a few hundred meters below the Schunter spring . The former mill building has been a listed building since 1993 .

The age of the mill is not known. It was an official banquet for the nobles of Warberg . The mill had existed since at least the beginning of the 18th century. According to the Räbker Erbenzinsregister, a dispute arose between the two mill neighbors over the water fair in 1708 after the re-establishment of the Upper Paper Mill upstream .
The mill is shown on a map of Räbke and the surrounding area made as part of the Braunschweig General Land Survey of 1754. At the time, almost 570 people lived in the village's 84 residential buildings.
As an official mill there was the privilege of two grinding courses. Other Räbker Müller made up for this competitive advantage by collecting grain from customers and delivering flour, as they had horses available as farmers. The official meal mill did not have this option because it did not have its own land.
According to the Räbker mill register from 1939, the mill has not been grinding flour since around 1910, but was only in operation as a grist mill for customers from Räbke. In 1939 the buildings of the Mühlenhof with agricultural facilities are described as newly constructed. In 1956 the mill closed due to lack of water. At the end of the 1960s the ailing water wheel and mill systems were removed.
