description
In Amwaj, some technical innovations have been introduced in recent years, such as vacuum sewer systems and a complicated fiber optic technology called “Smart City”. The islands are home to apartment buildings, skyscrapers, spa and hotel buildings, and retail outlets. There is also a marina with over 140 berths. Other facilities include a school (International School of Choueifat-Manama), a university, a hospital, a gas station, theme parks, a lagoon restaurant and a café. All of this was brought together under the "Amwaj Island Project" and implemented as an investment property for luxury apartments and its infrastructure with a budget of 1.5 billion US dollars.
