Amy Richards

Amy Richards (born February 9, 1970 ) is an American publicist , fundraising consultant and suffragette . She is an advisory member of the feminist magazine Ms. and founder of the Third Wave Association , a national organization for young feminists in the United States.

Life

Richards graduated from Barnard College in New York City in 1992 with a degree in art history . In the summer of that year she organized Freedom Summer '92 , a voter registration campaign, and in the same year founded the Third Wave Foundation , a national organization for young feminists between the ages of 15 and 30, which she led for ten years.

In recent years, Richards has devoted herself to teaching and consulting, writing essays, books and her column Ask Amy on feminist.com. It supports various groupings, including a. Planned Parenthood , who advocate abortion rights. She herself became the focus of a scandal when she described in the New York Times that she had two fetuses aborted from expected triplets due to her personal situation .
