An-Nabk ( Arabic النبك, also an-Nabek ) is a city in the Rif Dimashq governorate in southwest Syria . The city has about 32,548 inhabitants (2004 census). The majority of the residents are Sunnis , Syrian Catholics or Orthodox Christians .
The city is located north of Damascus in the Anti-Lebanon Mountains at an altitude of 1255 meters. The Christian monastery Dair Mar Musa al-Habaschi is located near the city .
The 1981 census counted 19,521 residents.
