An der Meerkatz is the name of a street in Trier city center . It connects Liebfrauenstrasse with Mustorstrasse. The name of the street is derived from a house "Zur Meerkatz", which stood in the street from 1481 . When the Carthusians built new houses in the street in 1764 , the old building was torn down, but the name of the house was adopted. In the course of the street there is a corner relief plate, a baroque spoiler and a sculpture niche with a statue of the Virgin Mary.
