Ana Fani Alessandri Carlos
Ana Fani Alessandri Carlos (born December 1, 1950 ) is a Brazilian geographer . Bachelor and licentiate in geography in 1975 followed by a master’s degree in 1979 and a doctorate in human geography in 1987, and finally in 2000 the livre-docência (habilitation). She is “Professora titular” of the Department of Geography at the University of São Paulo and coordinator of the study group on São Paulo at the same university. Her research area is urbanism and the “metropolis São Paulo ” and spatial transformations through capitalism.
