Ana Paula Cristóvão Lemos dos Santos (born October 17, 1963 in Luanda , Angola ) is the fourth wife of the former President of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos , and was the first lady of the south-west African country from 1991 to 2017 . She is a former model and later was a flight attendant on the President's plane. While working on the presidential flights, she met her future husband. Between 1990 and 1994 she completed teacher training at the State Institute for Education . Since May 17, 1991 both are married and have three children,Eduane Danilo dos Santos (born September 29, 1991), Joseana dos Santos (born April 5, 1995) and Eduardo Breno dos Santos (born October 2, 1998).

One diplomat described the President and First Lady as "a beautiful couple, elegantly and expensively dressed, it looks to the whole world as if they lived in Southern California ". In 1997, Ana Paula dos Santos undiplomatically announced that she would enroll her five-year-old son at the Portuguese school in Luanda because of the "poor quality" of state education for which many blamed her husband. She also tried to make her presence felt in administrative matters, which appealed to many Angolans. Her business interests in particular, especially diamonds , have received extremely critical comments from the Angolan public.

She is the patron of the Committee for the Support of Women in Rural Areas (COMUR), which supports rural women with microcredit funds. She represented her country at the micro-credit summit of heads of state or government in Washington , USA , in 1997.

Dos Santos is also active in their support of mine victims from the time of the liberation and subsequent civil war . Therefore she founded the Lwini Fund (pt. Fundo de Solidariedade Social Lwini ) in Angola , a foundation of social solidarity that is dedicated to the civilian victims of landmines , especially women and children.
