The Anaconda Copper Mining Company (ACM) was an American mining company and one of the largest mining companies in the world.

In 1880, Irish immigrant Marcus Daly founded the Anaconda Gold and Silver Mining Company in Butte . In 1882 a copper corridor was found and Daly had a copper smelter built. In 1891 the company changed its name to Anaconda Mining Company and in 1895 to Anaconda Copper Mining Company.

She operated the Anakonda copper mine until 1947 . The mining settlement of Anaconda was built next to the hut . In 1977 Anaconda Copper was bought by the Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO).

The Anaconda Copper Mining Company operated worldwide and operated mines in the USA, Chile and Mexico.
