Anagennisi Karditsa or Anagennisi Karditsa 1904 ( Greek Αναγέννηση Καρδίτσας 1904 ) is a Greek football club from Karditsa in Greece . In the 2015/16 season, the club plays in the Football League .
history
The club was founded in 1904 in the city of Karditsa in southwest Thessaly . It was originally founded as a sports club for several departments as ASA (Greek: Αθλητικός Σύλλογος Αναγέννησης - Athlitikos Syllogos Anagennisis), the Anagennisi Athletic Association . The name comes from the Greek word for rebirth .
When the Greek Football League was professionalized in 1979, the Football Department of ASA was transformed into a Football Public Limited Company or PAE (Greek: ΠΑΕ - Ποδοσφαιρική Ανώνυμη Εταιρία / Podosferiki Anonymi Eteria). From now on the club was called PAE Anagennisi Karditsas (FC Anagennisi Karditsa).
After spending several years in the lower grades, the club underwent a change in 2006 under Vaios Karagiannis , a former AEK Athens player . This consisted of bringing many young players into the team and signing a close player exchange contract with AEK Athens.
An improvement in the style of play ended with promotion to the Beta Ethniki in the 2008/09 season. After eight years in the Gamma Ethniki (northern group), this ascent was achieved.
Stadion
Anagennisi Karditsa currently plays its home games in the Karditsa Stadium (Δημοτικό Στάδιο Καρδίτσας). It is located in the eastern part of the city of Karditsa . The training ground is located in the neighboring town of Rousso to the south .
