Anastassija Valerijiwna Karlovytsch ( Ukrainian Анастасія Валеріївна Карлович , also Anastasiya Karlovich or Anastazia Karlovich ; born May 29, 1982 in Dnipropetrovsk ) is a Ukrainian chess player and journalist. She has been the International Women's Champion (WIM) since 2000 and the Women's Grandmaster (WGM) since 2003 . Karlowytsch achieved the required WGM standards in June 2001 at the Dniepropetrovsk Cup , in July 2002 at the M. Sośnicki Memorial in Świdnica and in December 2002 at a tournament in Kazan .

Karlovych has been playing chess since she was eight. Playing on the top board of the Ukrainian selection, she won the European Girls' Team Championship in 2000. In the Ukrainian team championship, Karlovych played in 1999 for the Mriya Grand Master School in Kiev , in 2000 and 2001 for the Chaika Grand Master School and in 2002 for Sarewo Donetsk . In the German women's Bundesliga, she played from 2003 to 2006 and from 2007 to 2010 for SK Großlehna , with whom she also took part in the European Women's Club Cup in 2008.

The law graduate now works as a journalist, and since 2006 she has been working regularly as the press officer for major FIDE tournaments, such as the 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2016 World Championships .
