Anastassija Alexandrowna Slonowa ( Russian Анастасия Александровна Слонова ; born June 10, 1991 in Ridder ) is a Kazakh cross-country skier .

Career

Slonowa has been participating in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2007 . She ran her first World Cup race in November 2009 in Beitostølen , which she finished with 74th place over 10 km freestyle. In February 2011 she won the gold medal with the relay at the Winter Asian Games in Almaty . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , she finished 54th in the sprint. In December 2012 in Québec she took 16th place in the sprint, her best individual World Cup result to date. At the U23 World Championship in Liberec in 2013 , she won silver over 10 km freestyle. Her best placings at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were 41st place in the 15 km skiathlon and 16th place in the team sprint. At the Winter Universiade 2015 in Štrbské Pleso , she won silver over 5 km classic and with the relay and gold in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2015 in Falun , she came in 48th place in the 10 km freestyle, 32nd place in the skiathlon and 12th place in the team sprint and relay.
